Guadalajara, Mexico.

May 19th, 2014.

The Art, Architecture and Design centre at the University of Guadalajara (Mexico) created the RESICUAAD programme which aims to recycle and reuse waste from the university community by reprocessing it in order to manufacture items such as electrical appliances and furniture.

Through its almost six years of existence, the programme has been able to process more than twenty tons of waste and it also has implemented initiatives such as desentilíchate where members of the community could sell their old stuff to people who could still give them some use, this was an attempt to make conscience on the risks of wastefulness.

The RESICUAAD programme is a creative solution to secure material for the design students' practices while keeping the centre’s area waste-free.
