La Garrucha, Chiapas, Mexico.

January 2nd to 6th, 2014

Liberated territory, Caracol III, La Resistencia, Hacia un Nuevo Amanecer.

The escuelitas (little schools) is a system developed by the Zapatists to spread their way of thinking to the outside world.

These can be found within the so called "liberated" zones; places which have established de facto an independent state with its own laws and organizational systems.

It consists of a controlled access to their territories and allowances to observe and participate in the workings of their society such as council meetings and family life.
