People applying for asylum in Germany sometimes live for over 10 years in a precarious situation, which hardly anyone from outside realises. Germany is unique in Europe with defining their residential area to a city and it's environment, which they are not allowed to leave without permission, not even for a couple of hours. They are usually not permitted to work and welfare is 30 % less than for Germans or people with a permanent residence permit. In most of the areas instead of money they receive vouchers instead of cash.

The legal status of the workshop participants is differing, most of them live in the asylum seekers home in Belzig. Waiting and fighting for years, material and psychique pressure combined with extremely low prospects of success usually describe their situation.
It builds a period of life which is supposed to be cut out of their lifes. The workshop aims to visually approach this period of time and this living space.
